"Find Out Who Your Friends Are"

Artist: Lawrence Tracy
Song: Find Out Who Your Friends Are
Album: For the Love

Run your car off the side of the road
Get stuck in a ditch way out in the middle of nowhere
Or get yourself in a bind lose the shirt off your back
Need a floor, need a couch, need a bus fare

This is where the rubber meets the road
This is where the cream is gonna rise
This is what you really didn't know
This is where the truth don't lie

{Chorus}
You find out who your friends are
Somebody's gonna drop everything
Run out and crank up their car
Hit the gas, get there fast
Never stop to think 'what's in it for me?' or 'it's way too far'
They just show on up with their big old heart
You find out who your friends are

Everybody wants to slap your back
wants to shake your hand
when you're up on top of that mountain
But let one of those rocks give way then you slide back down look up
and see who's around then

This ain't where the road comes to an end
This ain't where the bandwagon stops
This is just one of those times when
A lot of folks jump off

{Chorus}

When the water's high
When the weather's not so fair
When the well runs dry
Who's gonna be there?

{Chorus}

You find out who your friends are
(yeah, yeah)
You find out who your friends are

Run your car off the side of the road
Get stuck in a ditch way out in the middle of nowhere
(Well man, I've been there)
Or get yourself in a bind lose the shirt off your back
Need a floor, need a couch, need a bus fare
(Man, I've been there)

Man, I've been there
Oooh yeah.

From Cowboys Lyrics.com

This song reminds me so much of my friends especially since we are from a small town where things tend to be a bit country when compared to some of my other friends. We mostly all like country music because it's basically what we grew up on. We may be simple sometimes, but we all have big hearts.

Parents

Friendship with your parents is always just as important as with your friends. It's because your parents were your first friends. They taught you how friends should act towards one another. I believe that friendship starts at home. I've usually been good about telling my mother about the things going on in my life from school, friends and relationships. I talk to her like I would talk to my best friend. It always helps me to talk to her about everything because she's gone through some of the same things that I'm going through. I talked to her about my boyfriend problems at the time and she would tell me stories about when she had troubles when she was with my dad in high school. It's always nice to hear her stories because they're fun to listen to, I'm always curious about what my parents were like before my sisters and I were born. It's just great to listen to their stories because they give such great insight and truly help you with the right decision. They always want what is best for you. Having a great friendship with your parents enables them to trust you more. I know I was only able to go out and do things with my friends because my mom trusted me since I talked to her about many things in my life. When you build a friendship with your parents, it'll last through the years.

"Thank You"

"i'm not sure if this is what you are looking for.. but this was a poem i wrote as a thank you to my best friend who saved my life many times... sometimes with something as small as a smile."

You made me remember the good times
When i could only remember the bad
You promised me a return
Of the peace i long ago had
You never left me alone
When that was what i wrongly thought i needed
You never dwelt on my faults
Instead you pointed out when i had succeeded
You made me laugh
When i felt i would cry
You made me live
When i wished to die.

This reminds me of my best friend who saves me just about every day as well. Whenever I'm ready to give up, she's there holding out a hand to me.

"Crash and Burn"

Savage Garden
"Crash And Burn"

When you feel all alone
And the world has turned its back on you
Give me a moment please to tame your wild wild heart
I know you feel like the walls are closing in on you
It's hard to find relief and people can be so cold
When darkness is upon your door and you feel like you can't take anymore

Let me be the one you call
If you jump I'll break your fall
Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
If you need to fall apart
I can mend a broken heart
If you need to crash then crash and burn
You're not alone

When you feel all alone
And a loyal friend is hard to find
You're caught in a one way street
With the monsters in your head
When hopes and dreams are far away and
You feel like you can't face the day

Let me be the one you call
If you jump I'll break your fall
Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
If you need to fall apart
I can mend a broken heart
If you need to crash then crash and burn
You're not alone

'Cause there has always been heartache and pain
And when it's over you'll breathe again
You'll breath again

When you feel all alone
And the world has turned its back on you
Give me a moment please
To tame your wild wild heart

Let me be the one you call
If you jump I'll break your fall
Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
If you need to fall apart
I can mend a broken heart
If you need to crash then crash and burn
You're not alone

Savage Garden Lyrics

One of my favorite songs has to be this one. It reminds me of my friends. It reminds me that they are there even when I fall to pick me back up. Everyone feels that the world has completely turned on them sometimes, so its important to always support your friends in good times and in bad.

"Dance Upon The Wind"

Dance Upon The Wind.
I wasn't looking for it, but some how it came, and found me.
Before I had a chance to react, it wrapped it's warmth around me.
Like a thief in the night, it has come and gone.
I have nothing, but that vision to reflect upon.

Until chance comes again, I'll let my thoughts dance upon the wind.
All day long, in my mind, I walk love's lonely street.
Like a tired man that longs to sit, but just can't find a seat.
Then, there it was again, up ahead, to light my way.

Only to vanish once more, just like all my yesterdays.
Until chance comes again, I'll let my thoughts dance upon the wind.
I don't know where I'm going, and where I've been isn't much to speak of.
I just know my heart is always showing, leading me to some far off love.

Just when I give up the fight.
Here it comes to make the bad things good, and the wrong things right.
Only to leave me lost and lonely again.
Drifting away as my thoughts dance upon the wind.

It has a name, I think they call it friend.

"A Best Friend"

A BEST FRIEND
A best friend
is always there,
whether you need advice,
or a pep talk,
or even a shoulder to cry on.
A best friend
listens with her heart
and is always honest with you,
even though the truth
may not be
what you want to hear.
A best friend
knows all your secrets,
understands your fears
shares your dreams.
A best friend
never stops believing in you
even if you give up
on yourself.
you are
that kind of friend
to me.
And no matter what happens,
you always will be.
You are my best friend....
my forever friend.

From Poems for Friendship

I'm glad to have more than just one best friend like this. :]

Treasure

A Friend is a Treasure
A friend is someone we turn to,
when our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure,
for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills our lives,
with beauty, joy and grace.
And make the world we live in,
a better and happier place.

From Poems for Friendship

My life is filled with many treasures that are my friends.

True friend

A pal is one
With whom you can have fun
Who'll listen to you and talk
With whom you can share a joke
One you can drink with
And who with you will dine
One with whom all will look rosy
All pretty and all fine...

But when comes adversity
You'll seldom find him by your side
And even if stay does he,
Not long will he abide.

A true friend is one
With whom you can talk
'bout all under the sun
With whom you can laugh and joke
Drink, dine and have fun
And who to you will lend a ear
With him all will be Okey doke'.

Then, when hardship knocks...
You'll find him by your side
Always.
You he'll never leave
But try best to you guide
When you sigh, he'll too heave
When you fail to succeed
He'll try to bring to fruition
Your deed
When you fall sick
He'll bring relief
When the whole world mocks,
He'll stand by your belief
If all else the other way looks
He'll share your grief
Even if harm befalls ye
He'll stand in its way
And will not hesitate even a bit
To endanger his life, to lay down it.
And prove that a friend in need
Is a friend indeed!

Such a friend is hard to come by
Who'll laugh with you, with you who'll cry
So if ever one you get,
Try to be worthy of your mate
And see that never breaks the bond
That you with him ties fond.
